The Cloud Services Opportunities

Over the last twelve months or so, we are seeing an exponential increase in the focus, interest and information available on cloud computing. While there certainly is a lot of hype, there is a lot of potential as well – for example, Garter has forecast a 21% CAGR for the market opportunity around cloud services from 2010-2014 with the opportunity size in 2014 being around USD 150 billion. This makes cloud services one of the fastest growing technology segments today.

One early myth that has been dispelled is that cloud is an opportunity area mainly in the infrastructure space. The trends that we see however indicate that the larger pie will be around platforms and applications. Some of the areas of customer interest, and around which we are building offerings, include cloud (application) migration, cloud services management & governance, cloud security, cloud integration, and overall advisory services on cloud lifecycle management.


Cloud Migration offerings are around three main areas
Migration advisory services: including application portfolio assessment, cloud provider evaluations, cloud readiness assessment, and cloud roadmap preparation.
Migration implementation: including private cloud migration, SaaS enablement, application development/migration on/to PaaS, and cloud based integration.
Cloud management services: including cloud service monitoring, SLA management, monetization implementations, and unified management of hybrid (private and public) cloud environments.
