QP – Q2
You would be aware that with effect from April 1, 20XX we have added measures of Billability (to drive individual share towards revenue) and Operational Efficiency Index (measured through Average Cost to drive team to achieve operational efficiency) in QP. While Billability linkage is applicable for mid level and below employees ,the Operational Efficiency Index is applicable for senior and above. The above measures of QP are in addition to the linkage to Business Unit profitability (PBIT). Operational efficiency index for Q2 is measured at a vertical level.

We are pleased to announce the QP payout for the Business Unit profitability linkage for the quarter. The payout % on Billability or Operational efficiency index, applicable to you, will be communicated to you in your monthly pay-slipfor the month of OCT 20XX.

The PBIT achievement level is as follows -

QP Unit
PBIT Achievement over Plan
 Embedded Storage and FS Solutions
 XX%

For an employee to clarify their status on billability-please visit the My Personal Info Page (MPI) under My Day at Work section in HR.Your QP will be paid along with this month’s salary.
In case an employee shifts from one SBU / Vertical / Practice to another during the quarter, QP will be calculated on the SBU / Vertical / Practice in which the employee spent the most time. This specific data for the quarter will be based on SAP data. You can check your assignment as per SAP on real time basis in The MY ASSIGNMENT section under MY DATA in HR.

The Cloud Services Opportunities
Over the last twelve months or so, we are seeing an exponential increase in the focus, interest and information available on cloud computing. While there certainly is a lot of hype, there is a lot of potential as well – for example, Garter has forecast a 21% CAGR for the market opportunity around cloud services from 2010-2014 with the opportunity size in 2014 being around USD 150 billion. This makes cloud services one of the fastest growing technology segments today.

One early myth that has been dispelled is that cloud is an opportunity area mainly in the infrastructure space. The trends that we see however indicate that the larger pie will be around platforms and applications. Some of the areas of customer interest, and around which we are building offerings, include cloud (application) migration, cloud services management & governance, cloud security, cloud integration, and overall advisory services on cloud lifecycle management.

Cloud Migration offerings are around three main areas
Migration advisory services: including application portfolio assessment, cloud provider evaluations, cloud readiness assessment, and cloud roadmap preparation.
Migration implementation: including private cloud migration, SaaS enablement, application development/migration on/to PaaS, and cloud based integration.
Cloud management services: including cloud service monitoring, SLA management, monetization implementations, and unified management of hybrid (private and public) cloud environments.

Have you ever automated the Requirement Management?
A requirements management process reduces project risks by systematically collecting, managing and
communicating the change requirements. A well implemented requirements management process
helps teams to deliver a quality product on time and within budget.

Requirement management tools store requirements and related information centrally. They import and
export requirements, establish traceability between them and link requirements to other software
development tools.

Tools used in this space are:
Rational RequisitePro:
Ideal for medium size projects where requirements are already gathered in word doc, excel and would
like to be tracked.

Rational Doors:
Best suited for complex systems level projects where requirements management rigor & process is quite
intense. E.g. defense, aerospace, telecommunications, etc.
Introducing Company’s own tool for managing requirements...

Feedback on RM tools:

“Due to the high churn, the requirements management was taking huge effort from the business
analyst, developers and the project management team. RequisitePro implementation reduces a lot of
confusion and bugs getting into the code. Besides it saves a lot of rework and improves productivity.
The process of raising new requirements and change of requirements also are streamlined for all
stakeholders. Since the new requirements are assigned to individual developers, the tool helps in
tracking as well.” - Senior Manager (GMT)

“One of the best tool to track requirement changes across SDLC which also ensures completeness of all
the features.” - Project Manager (GMT)
